Welcome Gamma Iota Sigma from VCU
Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) is an international professional fraternity for students studying insurance, risk management and actuarial science. GIS pursues a mission to promote and encourage student interest in the industry as a profession, while encouraging the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members.
Continental Underwriters, Inc., is proud to work closely with the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business, and is lucky to have some great members of the current Gamma Iota Sigma chapter on our team! Olivia Guthrow, RMI ’18, is the current President of the Alpha Mu Chapter of GIS. Olivia stepped into the role of President by initiating a leadership retreat for the 2017-2018 executive board members, and has been working diligently to gather fresh ideas and inspiring speakers for the academic year’s chapter meetings.
Working with Olivia as Vice President is Niket Shah, RMI ’18. Niket attended the GIS Leadership Symposium in Columbus, Ohio at the end of August. The symposium helps bring together the international chapters of Gamma Iota Sigma and teaches leadership skills necessary for GIS leaders to approach all areas of the organization with confidence. Brandon Johnson, RMI ’18, has taken on a new role as GIS-Alpha Mu’s Vice President of Recruitment. Brandon works with the members of the executive board to promote the chapter’s recruitment strategy and continue to bring new faces to the GIS group.
Continental Underwriters, Inc. is proud to have Olivia, Niket, and Brandon on our team. We have learned as much from them as they have learned from us. They are a huge asset to our team, and help us to provide our customers with the service and knowledge they have come to expect!
